Indulge in the decadent Peanut Butter Perfection Cake – a culinary masterpiece that combines a moist peanut butter cake with a luscious peanut butter frosting. Topped with crunchy peanuts, mini peanut butter cups, and a chocolate drizzle, this cake is a peanut lover’s dream!

Ingredients

Scale

For the cake:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup buttermilk

For the frosting:

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 2 ½ cups powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup heavy cream (plus more as needed)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For topping (optional):

  • Chopped roasted peanuts
  • Mini peanut butter cups
  • Chocolate drizzle

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans. Line the bottoms with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. Prepare the dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Cream the butter and sugars: In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add peanut butter and eggs: Beat in the peanut butter, then add the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla.
  5. Combine wet and dry ingredients: Alternate adding the flour mixture and buttermilk to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Bake the cakes: Divide the batter between the pans and bake for 25–30 minutes. Cool, then remove from pans.
  7. Make the frosting: Beat peanut butter and butter until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar and cream, then beat in vanilla.
  8. Frost the cake: Frost the cooled cake layers, stack them, and garnish with toppings.

Notes

  • This cake can be made ahead and stored in the fridge; let it come to room temperature before serving.
  • For added indulgence, add a thin layer of chocolate ganache between the layers.
