Main Bread:
- 1/3 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 2/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 medium apples, peeled and diced
For the Glaze:
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1–2 tablespoons milk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven and prepare the pan: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease/flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- Mix cinnamon sugar: Combine brown sugar and cinnamon in a bowl; set aside.
- Cream sugar and butter: In a large bowl, cream granulated sugar and butter until fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
- Combine dry ingredients: In another bowl, whisk flour and baking powder. Add to the creamed mixture with milk.
- Layer batter and apples: Pour half of the batter into the pan, add apples, cinnamon sugar. Repeat layers and swirl with a knife.
- Bake: Bake for 50-60 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool in pan, then transfer to a rack.
- Make glaze: Whisk powdered sugar and milk, drizzle over cooled bread.
