Chicken & Broth:
- 1 1/2 pounds boneless skinless chicken thighs or breasts
- 6 cups chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
Noodles & Garnish:
- 12 ounces egg noodles (Amish-style or wide)
- 1/2 cup heavy cream (optional)
- Chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Cook Chicken: In a pot, combine chicken, broth, butter, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and thyme. Simmer until chicken is cooked.
- Shred & Cook Noodles: Shred chicken, return to pot, and add noodles. Cook until noodles are tender.
- Finish Dish: Stir in heavy cream (if using), adjust seasoning, and simmer briefly. Serve warm, garnished with parsley.
