- 3 tablespoons whole milk
- 3 medium apples (peeled, cored, and thinly sliced)
- 1 tablespoon rum (optional)

Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8-inch round cake pan.
- Prepare dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Mix wet ingredients: In a separate large bowl, whisk melted butter and sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract and rum if using.
- Combine ingredients: Gradually fold in dry ingredients, then add milk until smooth. Gently fold in sliced apples.
- Bake: Pour batter into pan and bake for 40–45 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Finish: Allow the cake to cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
- You can use Calvados instead of rum for a French touch.
