Apple Filling:
- 2 large apples (peeled, cored, and diced)
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water
Other Ingredients:
- 8–10 egg roll wrappers
- vegetable oil (for frying)
- powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)
- caramel sauce (for dipping, optional)
Instructions
- Prepare Apple Filling: In a skillet, melt butter and add diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Cook until soft and syrupy. Stir in cornstarch slurry and thicken. Cool slightly.
- Assemble Egg Rolls: Place an egg roll wrapper, spoon filling, fold corners, and roll tightly. Seal edges with water. Repeat.
- Fry Egg Rolls: Heat oil, fry egg rolls in batches until golden brown and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
- Serve: Dust with powdered sugar and serve with caramel sauce for dipping.
Notes
- You can bake the egg rolls at 400°F (200°C) for 12–15 minutes or air-fry them at 375°F (190°C) for 8–10 minutes for a lighter version.
- Use Granny Smith apples for a tart contrast or Honeycrisp for a sweeter filling.
