Description

These Apple Pie Egg Rolls are a delightful twist on traditional apple pie, with a crispy, golden shell filled with warm, cinnamon-spiced apples. Perfect for a sweet treat or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale

Apple Filling:

  • 2 large apples (peeled, cored, and diced)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water

Other Ingredients:

  • 8–10 egg roll wrappers
  • vegetable oil (for frying)
  • powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)
  • caramel sauce (for dipping, optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Apple Filling: In a skillet, melt butter and add diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Cook until soft and syrupy. Stir in cornstarch slurry and thicken. Cool slightly.
  2. Assemble Egg Rolls: Place an egg roll wrapper, spoon filling, fold corners, and roll tightly. Seal edges with water. Repeat.
  3. Fry Egg Rolls: Heat oil, fry egg rolls in batches until golden brown and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
  4. Serve: Dust with powdered sugar and serve with caramel sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • You can bake the egg rolls at 400°F (200°C) for 12–15 minutes or air-fry them at 375°F (190°C) for 8–10 minutes for a lighter version.
  • Use Granny Smith apples for a tart contrast or Honeycrisp for a sweeter filling.
