For the Stir Fry:
- 1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
- 3 cups broccoli florets
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (divided)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
For the Sauce:
- ½ cup low-sodium soy sauce
- ¼ cup oyster sauce

- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon water
- ½ teaspoon sesame oil
- Sliced green onions and sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, cornstarch, and water until smooth. Set aside.
- Sear the Beef: Heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add sliced beef in a single layer and sear for 1–2 minutes per side until browned but not fully cooked. Remove beef from skillet and set aside.
- Stir Fry: Add remaining oil to the skillet along with broccoli, garlic, and ginger, stir-frying for 3–4 minutes until broccoli is tender-crisp. Return beef to the skillet and pour sauce over the top. Toss to coat and cook for 1–2 more minutes until beef is cooked through and sauce has thickened.
- Garnish and Serve: Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds if desired. Serve immediately.
Notes
- For extra tenderness, marinate the beef in 2 tablespoons soy sauce and 1 teaspoon cornstarch for 20 minutes before cooking.
