For the brown butter frosting:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven and prepare the baking dish: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Mix wet ingredients: In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar. Add sour cream, eggs, and vanilla, then mix in mashed bananas.
- Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to wet mixture.
- Bake: Pour batter into the pan and bake for 25–30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool.
- Make the frosting: Brown butter in a saucepan, then mix with powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
