Seasoned Ground Beef:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes with juice
- 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Noodle Layer:
- 2 cups cooked egg noodles
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup cottage cheese
Cheese Layer:
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Cook the beef: Brown the ground beef and onion in a skillet. Add garlic, tomatoes, tomato sauce, seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer.
- Prepare noodle mixture: Combine cooked noodles with sour cream and cottage cheese.
- Layer the casserole: Alternate layers of noodle mixture, meat sauce, and cheese in the baking dish.
- Bake: Top with remaining cheese and bake for 25–30 minutes until bubbly. Garnish with parsley.
