Seasoned Ground Beef:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes with juice
  • 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Noodle Layer:

  • 2 cups cooked egg noodles
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup cottage cheese

Cheese Layer:

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook the beef: Brown the ground beef and onion in a skillet. Add garlic, tomatoes, tomato sauce, seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer.
  3. Prepare noodle mixture: Combine cooked noodles with sour cream and cottage cheese.
  4. Layer the casserole: Alternate layers of noodle mixture, meat sauce, and cheese in the baking dish.
  5. Bake: Top with remaining cheese and bake for 25–30 minutes until bubbly. Garnish with parsley.
