Marinated Beef:
- 1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
Stir Fry:
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided
- 8 ounces cremini or button mushrooms, sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 3 green onions, sliced
- 1/4 cup low-sodium beef broth or water
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, toss the sliced beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, and cornstarch. Marinate for 10–15 minutes.
- Stir Fry: Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a skillet. Sear the beef, then set aside. Sauté mushrooms and bell pepper. Add garlic and ginger. Return beef, add green onions and broth. Stir-fry until sauce thickens. Drizzle with sesame oil, season, and garnish with sesame seeds.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a splash of rice vinegar or chili sauce.
- Substitute flank steak with sirloin or skirt steak if preferred.
