Description

A fun twist on classic hot dogs, these Big Mac Hot Dogs are loaded with all the flavors of a Big Mac burger. Topped with a special sauce, cheese, lettuce, pickles, and onions, these hot dogs are a delicious and nostalgic treat.

Ingredients

Scale

Hot Dogs:

  • 6 beef hot dogs
  • 6 hot dog buns (preferably sesame seed buns)
  • 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Big Mac Sauce:

  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon sweet pickle relish
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • pinch of paprika

Toppings:

  • 6 slices American cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/4 cup diced pickles
  • 2 tablespoons diced onion
  • sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook Ground Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef with salt and pepper until fully browned. Drain any excess grease and set aside.
  2. Make Big Mac Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together all the Big Mac sauce ingredients and refrigerate until ready to use.
  3. Cook Hot Dogs: Cook the hot dogs using your preferred method (grilled, pan-fried, or boiled). Lightly toast the hot dog buns if desired.
  4. Assemble: Place a slice of American cheese in each bun and add a hot dog. Spoon some cooked ground beef over the top, then drizzle generously with Big Mac sauce. Top with shredded lettuce, diced pickles, and onions. Sprinkle with sesame seeds for a classic Big Mac look. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, try wrapping the hot dogs in bacon before cooking.
  • The Big Mac sauce can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for up to 5 days.
