Blackberry Sorbet:

  • 4 cups fresh or frozen blackberries
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Cook the Blackberries: In a saucepan over medium heat, combine blackberries, sugar, and water. Cook until berries break down and sugar dissolves.
  2. Blend and Strain: Transfer mixture to a blender, puree until smooth. Strain through sieve to remove seeds. Add lemon juice and salt.
  3. Chill and Freeze: Chill mixture for 1 hour. Churn in ice cream maker until sorbet consistency. Freeze for 2 hours before serving.

Notes

  • For a softer sorbet, add corn syrup or vodka before churning.
  • If no ice cream maker, freeze mixture in dish, stirring every 30 minutes until set.
