- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1–2 tbsp brewed chai tea
- Pinch of cinnamon (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan or line it with parchment paper.
- Prepare dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and chai spices.
- Mix wet ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract. Mix in the dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk and brewed chai tea.
- Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 35–40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool and glaze: Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Whisk powdered sugar with brewed chai tea to form a glaze. Drizzle over the cooled cake and sprinkle with cinnamon if desired.
