- 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 2 and 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and brown sugar together until light and fluffy. Mix in the vanilla extract.
- Add Dry Ingredients: Add the flour and salt, and mix until a soft dough forms.
- Shape and Chill: Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and roll it to about 1/4-inch thickness. Cut into desired shapes or squares. Chill for 10–15 minutes.
- Bake: Place cookies on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 14–16 minutes until edges are starting to turn golden. Cool on the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
