Description

Indulge in the sweet, buttery goodness of homemade Buttermilk Syrup. This rich and velvety syrup is perfect for drizzling over fluffy pancakes, crisp waffles, or decadent French toast. Simple to make and bursting with flavor, it will elevate your breakfast to a whole new level.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon light corn syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Stir in the sugar, buttermilk, and corn syrup. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, stirring constantly.

  3. Once boiling, add the baking soda (the mixture will foam up, so use a larger pan).
  4. Continue to cook and stir for 4-5 minutes until the syrup thickens slightly and turns a light golden color.

  5. Remove the pan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  6. Serve warm over pancakes, waffles, or French toast.
