Instructions
- Prepare Cake Pans: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease three 8-inch round cake pans thoroughly to prevent sticking.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt to ensure even distribution of leavening agents.
- Beat Butter and Sugar: In a large bowl, use a mixer to beat the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, which will help create a tender cake texture.
- Add Eggs and Vanilla: Incorporate the eggs one at a time into the butter mixture, blending well after each addition, then mix in the vanilla extract for flavor.
- Combine Milk and Sour Cream: In a separate bowl, whisk together the whole milk and sour cream to create a smooth liquid mixture that will add moisture.
