Description

A delicious twist on traditional nachos, these Cheeseburger Totchos feature crispy tater tots topped with seasoned ground beef, melted cheddar cheese, and classic cheeseburger toppings for a crowd-pleasing appetizer or snack.

Ingredients

Scale

Tater Tots:

  • 1 (32-ounce) bag frozen tater tots

Cheeseburger Topping:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion (diced)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Additional Toppings:

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup dill pickles (chopped)
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 1/4 cup sour cream (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Bake Tater Tots: Spread the tater tots on a large baking sheet and bake for 25–30 minutes until golden and crispy.
  3. Cook Ground Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and onion with garlic powder, salt, and pepper until browned and cooked through.
  4. Assemble Totchos: Transfer the baked tater tots to a dish, top with the cooked beef, and sprinkle cheddar cheese over the top. Bake for an additional 5 minutes until the cheese melts.
  5. Add Toppings: Remove from the oven and top with tomatoes, pickles, ketchup, mustard, sour cream, and green onions. Serve hot.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add jalapeños or pepper jack cheese.
  • Prepare the toppings while the tater tots bake for efficiency.
  • Great for game day or casual gatherings.
