Description

Cheesy Beefy Roll-Ups are a delicious and easy-to-make dish perfect for parties, snacks, or a quick dinner. Ground beef is cooked with onions, garlic, and Italian seasoning, then combined with marinara sauce and layered with shredded mozzarella and Parmesan cheese inside crescent or pizza dough. Baked until golden and bubbly, these savory roll-ups are flavorful, cheesy, and satisfying.

Ingredients

Scale

Beef Mixture

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • ½ small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup marinara or pizza sauce

Cheese and Dough

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough or pizza dough

Topping

  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Baking Sheet: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
  2. Cook Beef Mixture: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef with chopped onion until browned and fully cooked, about 6 to 8 minutes. Drain excess grease if necessary. Add minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Stir in marinara sauce and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes until the sauce slightly thickens. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
  3. Roll Out Dough: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the crescent or pizza dough into a rectangle. If using crescent roll dough, press the seams together to form a solid sheet.
  4. Assemble Roll-Ups: Spread the cooled beef mixture evenly over the dough, leaving a ½-inch border all around. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan evenly over the beef mixture.
  5. Roll and Slice: Starting from the long edge, tightly roll the dough into a log. Slice the roll into 1½-inch pieces and arrange them cut-side up on your prepared baking sheet.
  6. Add Toppings: Brush the tops of each roll-up with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic powder for extra flavor and a golden finish.
  7. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 18 minutes, or until the roll-ups are golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.
  8. Garnish and Serve: Remove from oven and optionally garnish with chopped parsley. Serve warm with extra marinara sauce on the side for dipping.
