Description

Enjoy a comforting and indulgent meal with these Chicken Alfredo Garlic Bread Bowls. Tender, seasoned chicken and creamy Alfredo pasta are combined and served inside crispy, buttery garlic bread bowls, making for a fun and flavorful dinner that’s perfect for family nights or casual entertaining.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken and Pasta

  • 3 chicken breasts, cut into cubes
  • 1 pound pasta (penne, fettuccine, or your choice)
  • 1 jar Alfredo sauce (about 15 oz)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 34 teaspoons garlic and herb seasoning

Bread Bowls and Topping

  • 6 Kaiser rolls (or more if needed)
  • 1 stick (½ cup) unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ cup shredded Parmesan cheese

Garnish (Optional)

  • Fresh parsley
  • Red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Cook the chicken: Season the cubed chicken breasts with garlic and herb seasoning, salt, and pepper. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat and cook the chicken for 6-8 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  2. Cook the pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain the pasta and set aside.
  3. Prepare the bread bowls: Slice the tops off the Kaiser rolls and carefully hollow out the centers, creating bowl shapes to hold the pasta mixture.
  4. Make garlic butter: Combine the melted butter with garlic and herb seasoning. Brush this mixture generously on the inside and edges of the hollowed bread bowls.
  5. Bake the bread bowls: Arrange the prepared bread bowls on a baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 375°F for 4-5 minutes until the bread is lightly toasted.
  6. Combine pasta and sauce: In the same pan used for cooking chicken, add the cooked pasta and Alfredo sauce. Stir everything together to coat the pasta evenly with the creamy sauce.
  7. Assemble the bowls: Spoon the chicken Alfredo mixture into each toasted bread bowl. Sprinkle shredded Parmesan cheese evenly on top of each bowl.
  8. Bake again: Place the filled bread bowls back into the oven and bake for an additional 4-5 minutes until the cheese melts and the bread edges are crispy.
  9. Serve and enjoy: Garnish with fresh parsley and red pepper flakes if desired, serve hot, and enjoy a delicious, comforting meal.

Notes

  • Use any pasta shape you prefer; penne or fettuccine work particularly well for this recipe.
  • Feel free to substitute Kaiser rolls with any other sturdy bread rolls that can hold the filling.
  • Adjust the garlic and herb seasoning according to your taste preferences.
  • For a spicier kick, add more red pepper flakes when serving.
  • Leftover Chicken Alfredo can be stored separately and reheated, but bread bowls are best served fresh for optimal texture.
