Description

This Chicken Avocado Wrap is a quick, fresh, and flavorful meal perfect for a healthy lunch or light dinner. It combines tender cooked chicken breast, creamy ripe avocado, crisp lettuce, juicy tomatoes, cheddar cheese, and ranch dressing, all wrapped up in a warm flour tortilla for a satisfying handheld meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Wrap Ingredients

  • 1 cooked chicken breast, sliced or shredded
  • 1 ripe avocado, sliced
  • 2 flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 23 tablespoons ranch dressing (or your favorite dressing)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Slice or shred the cooked chicken breast. Slice the avocado and remove the pit. Dice the tomatoes and shred the lettuce if necessary to prepare all the components for assembling the wrap.
  2. Warm Tortillas: Place the flour tortillas on a microwave-safe plate and warm them in the microwave for 10-15 seconds, making them more pliable and easier to roll without cracking.
  3. Assemble Wraps: Lay the warmed tortillas flat on a clean surface. Spread a layer of shredded lettuce evenly across the center, leaving space at the edges. Arrange the sliced or shredded chicken on top of the lettuce. Add slices of avocado over the chicken, then sprinkle diced tomatoes and shredded cheddar cheese to add flavor and texture.
  4. Season and Dress: Sprinkle salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste over the fillings. Drizzle 2-3 tablespoons of ranch dressing or your preferred dressing evenly over the ingredients to add creaminess and enhance flavor.
  5. Wrap Up: Fold the sides of the tortilla inward over the filling, then tightly roll the tortilla from the bottom upwards to enclose all ingredients securely inside a wrap.
  6. Serve: Place the wraps seam-side down to prevent unrolling. Optionally, slice each wrap diagonally in half for easier handling and an appealing presentation. Serve immediately for best taste and freshness.

Notes

  • Use cooked chicken breast leftovers or rotisserie chicken for quick prep.
  • Choose a dressing of your preference such as Caesar, honey mustard, or a vinaigrette for variation.
  • For a gluten-free option, substitute flour tortillas with gluten-free tortillas or large lettuce leaves.
  • To make it more filling, add beans or rice inside the wrap.
  • Store any leftover wrap ingredients separately to keep them fresh if not assembling immediately.
