  • 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 3 medium ripe bananas (mashed, about 1 1/4 cups)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream or plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease/flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Prepare dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Combine wet ingredients: In a large bowl, cream butter and sugars, add eggs and vanilla. Mix in bananas and sour cream.
  4. Mix batter: Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, fold in chocolate chips.
  5. Bake: Pour batter into loaf pan, bake for 55–65 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Cool and serve: Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
