Description

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

  • 2 large eggs

Dry Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • 3/4 cup chocolate chips (plus extra for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line a 9×5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
  2. Mix wet ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together mashed bananas, melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Add eggs and vanilla, mix until smooth.
  3. Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Add to the banana mixture and stir until just combined.
  4. Add final ingredients: Fold in sour cream and chocolate chips. Pour batter into pan, top with extra chocolate chips.
  5. Bake: Bake for 55–65 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  6. Cool and serve: Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
