Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease/flour a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add Wet Ingredients: Mix in eggs, buttermilk, vegetable oil, and vanilla until combined.
  4. Add Hot Water: Slowly add hot water and mix until smooth.
  5. Bake: Pour batter into pan and bake for 30-35 minutes.
  6. Add Cherry Filling: Spread cherry pie filling over slightly cooled cake.
  7. Make Ganache: Heat cream, pour over chocolate chips, stir until smooth.
