  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Wet Ingredients:

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Additional:

  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners.
  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, salt, baking powder, and baking soda until well combined.
  3. Combine wet ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined; do not overmix.
  5. Add chocolate chips: Fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Bake: Divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups, filling each about 3/4 full. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Cool: Let the muffins cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For extra chocolate flavor, sprinkle additional chocolate chips on top before baking.
