Ingredients
Scale
Ingredients:
- 1 round loaf of Italian bread or muffuletta bread (about 10 inches wide)
- 1 cup olive salad (store-bought or homemade)
- 4 ounces sliced Genoa salami
- 4 ounces sliced mortadella or bologna
- 4 ounces sliced ham
- 4 ounces sliced provolone cheese
- 4 ounces sliced mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Slice the bread: Slice the round loaf of bread in half horizontally. If the loaf is very thick, scoop out a bit of the inside from each half to make room for the fillings.
- Layer the ingredients: Spread half of the olive salad on the bottom half of the bread. Layer salami, mortadella, ham, provolone, and mozzarella evenly over the olive salad.
- Top and chill: Top with remaining olive salad, place the top half of the bread, wrap in plastic, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or up to overnight.
- Serve: Cut into wedges or thick slices before serving.
Notes
- To make a quick homemade olive salad, combine chopped olives, roasted red peppers, garlic, capers, parsley, oregano, olive oil, and red wine vinegar.
- This sandwich is great for picnics or make-ahead lunches.
