  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

For the filling:

  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2/3 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 3–4 lemons)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest (optional)
  • powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven and prepare the pan: Preheat oven to 350°F and grease or line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. Make the crust: Cream together butter and sugar, mix in flour and salt, then press into the pan and bake until golden.
  3. Prepare the filling: Whisk together sugar and flour, add eggs, lemon juice, and zest, then pour over the hot crust.
  4. Bake and chill: Bake until set, cool, refrigerate, and dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes
