Description

Delicious Crab Cheese Filled Crescent Rolls featuring creamy crab meat and cheese wrapped in buttery crescent dough, baked to golden perfection. Perfect as an easy, elegant appetizer or seafood snack for parties and gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale

Crescent Roll Filling

  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup cooked lump crab meat, drained and picked over
  • 2 tablespoons green onions, finely chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese

Dough and Finishing

  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper to prevent sticking and for easy cleanup.
  2. Prepare the filling: In a medium bowl, thoroughly mix the softened cream cheese, cooked lump crab meat, finely chopped green onions, garlic powder, Old Bay seasoning if using, and salt and pepper to taste. Stir in the shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese to create a creamy, flavorful mixture.
  3. Assemble the crescent rolls: Unroll the refrigerated crescent roll dough and separate it into 8 individual triangles. Place a spoonful of the crab cheese filling at the wide end of each triangle. Carefully roll each triangle from the wide end toward the tip, ensuring the filling is securely enclosed. Arrange the rolled crescents seam side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Apply egg wash: Brush the tops of each crescent roll with the beaten egg to give them a beautiful golden brown and shiny finish after baking.
  5. Bake to perfection: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 12 to 14 minutes. Bake until the crescent rolls have puffed up and are golden brown on top.
  6. Cool and serve: Remove the rolls from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving to allow the filling to set and to enjoy comfortably.

Notes

  • Serve the crescent rolls with a squeeze of fresh lemon or alongside cocktail or tartar sauce for extra flavor.
  • You can use imitation crab meat as a budget-friendly alternative to real crab meat without sacrificing taste.
