Ingredients
Scale
Pasta
- 8 oz fettuccine pasta
Steak
- 1 lb sirloin or ribeye steak
- 1 tsp Cajun seasoning
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Sauce
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Garnish
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Cook the pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine pasta and cook until al dente, about 10-12 minutes. Drain well and set aside.
- Sear the steak: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Season the steak evenly with salt, black pepper, and Cajun seasoning. Place the steak in the hot skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes per side or until it reaches your desired level of doneness. Remove the steak from the skillet and allow it to rest briefly.
- Create the sauce: In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium. Add the unsalted butter and allow it to melt. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes, taking care not to burn the garlic. Pour in the heavy cream and stir well to combine. Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce gently simmer, stirring occasionally.
- Add cheese: Whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until it melts completely and the sauce becomes smooth and creamy.
- Combine and serve: Thinly slice the rested steak against the grain. Return the sliced steak to the skillet along with the cooked and drained fettuccine. Toss everything gently to coat the pasta and steak evenly with the creamy Cajun Alfredo sauce. Remove from heat and serve immediately, garnished with chopped fresh parsley.
Notes
- Adjust Cajun seasoning amounts based on your heat preference.
- Use freshly grated Parmesan for the best flavor and texture.
- Let the steak rest after searing to retain its juices.
- Serve with a side of steamed vegetables or a fresh green salad for a balanced meal.
