- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 4 ounces cream cheese (softened)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Breading:
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs (beaten)
- 1 1/2 cups seasoned breadcrumbs
- 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
Other:
- vegetable oil for frying
- chopped parsley for garnish (optional)
- marinara or ranch for dipping (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare Cheese Balls: Mix mozzarella, cheddar, cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Shape into 1-inch balls and freeze for 20–30 minutes.
- Breading Station: Set up flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs with paprika in three separate bowls. Coat each cheese ball in flour, egg, and breadcrumbs.
- Fry: Heat oil to 350°F, fry the cheese balls in batches for 2–3 minutes until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
- Serve: Garnish with parsley and serve with dipping sauce.
Notes
- You can prepare and freeze the breaded cheese balls ahead of time. Fry directly from frozen, adding an extra minute to cook time.
- For a spicy twist, use a mix of pepper jack and Monterey Jack cheeses.
