  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 ounces cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Breading:

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs (beaten)
  • 1 1/2 cups seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)

Other:

  • vegetable oil for frying
  • chopped parsley for garnish (optional)
  • marinara or ranch for dipping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Cheese Balls: Mix mozzarella, cheddar, cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Shape into 1-inch balls and freeze for 20–30 minutes.
  2. Breading Station: Set up flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs with paprika in three separate bowls. Coat each cheese ball in flour, egg, and breadcrumbs.
  3. Fry: Heat oil to 350°F, fry the cheese balls in batches for 2–3 minutes until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
  4. Serve: Garnish with parsley and serve with dipping sauce.

Notes

  • You can prepare and freeze the breaded cheese balls ahead of time. Fry directly from frozen, adding an extra minute to cook time.
  • For a spicy twist, use a mix of pepper jack and Monterey Jack cheeses.
