These Crispy Fried Mushrooms are a delightful appetizer or snack that features button or cremini mushrooms coated in a crunchy panko and Parmesan crust. Perfectly seasoned and fried to a golden brown, these mushrooms are sure to be a hit at any gathering.

Mushrooms:
- 1 pound button or cremini mushrooms (cleaned and stems trimmed)
Breading:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Other:
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare Mushrooms: Pat the mushrooms dry with a paper towel.
- Breading Station: Set up three shallow bowls with flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs mixed with Parmesan, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Coat Mushrooms: Dredge mushrooms in flour, then egg, and finally breadcrumb mixture.
- Fry Mushrooms: Heat oil to 350°F, fry mushrooms in batches for 3–4 minutes until golden and crispy.
- Drain and Serve: Transfer fried mushrooms to a paper towel-lined plate. Serve hot, garnished with parsley.
Notes
- For an extra kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the breadcrumb mix.
- Best served fresh but can be kept warm in a 200°F oven if needed.
