These Crispy Parmesan Asparagus Sticks are a delicious and healthy appetizer or side dish. Fresh asparagus spears are coated in a crispy Parmesan breadcrumb mixture and baked to perfection. They are perfect for parties or as a flavorful snack.
Ingredients
Fresh Asparagus:
1 bunch trimmed
All-Purpose Flour:
½ cup
Eggs:
2 large, beaten
Panko Breadcrumbs:
¾ cup
Grated Parmesan Cheese:
½ cup
Garlic Powder:
½ teaspoon
Black Pepper:
¼ teaspoon
Salt:
¼ teaspoon
Cooking Spray or Olive Oil
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper or greasing.
- Dredging Station: Set up three shallow bowls for dredging – flour, beaten eggs, and a mixture of panko, Parmesan, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Coat Asparagus: Dredge each asparagus spear in flour, then egg, and coat with the Parmesan-panko mixture. Place on baking sheet.
- Bake: Lightly spray the coated asparagus with cooking spray or olive oil. Bake for 12–15 minutes until crispy and golden.
- Serve: Enjoy warm with marinara, ranch, or garlic aioli for dipping.
Notes
- Thinner asparagus spears are recommended for quicker cooking and extra crispiness.
- The sticks can also be air fried at 375°F for 8–10 minutes.
