Cheesecake Layer:

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang.
  2. Mix Brownie Batter: Combine melted butter, sugar, vanilla, cocoa powder, red food coloring, and vinegar. Mix in eggs, then stir in flour and salt. Spread most of the batter in the pan.
  3. Prepare Cheesecake Layer: Beat cream cheese, sugar, egg yolk, and vanilla until smooth. Spread over brownie batter.
  4. Add Remaining Batter: Drop reserved batter over cheesecake layer and swirl with a knife.
  5. Bake: Bake for 28-32 minutes until set. Cool, then chill before slicing.
