Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup dill pickle juice
- 1/2 cup chopped dill pickles
- 1/2 cup white vinegar
- 1/2 cup water
- 5–6 serrano peppers (stems removed)
- 2 cloves garlic (peeled)
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon fresh dill (optional, chopped)
Ingredients:
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine the dill pickle juice, chopped pickles, white vinegar, water, serrano peppers, and garlic. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes until the peppers are soft.
- Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly. Transfer to a blender, add onion powder, mustard seeds, turmeric, black pepper, salt, and fresh dill if using. Blend until smooth.
- Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. For a thinner sauce, add more pickle juice or water 1 tablespoon at a time.
- Pour the sauce into a sterilized bottle or jar and refrigerate. Let it chill for at least 24 hours before using for the best flavor.
Notes
- For a milder sauce, use fewer serrano peppers or substitute with jalapeños.
- This sauce is great on burgers, hot dogs, or mixed into dressings and dips.
