  • 1 cup dill pickle juice
  • 1/2 cup chopped dill pickles
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 5–6 serrano peppers (stems removed)
  • 2 cloves garlic (peeled)
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill (optional, chopped)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the dill pickle juice, chopped pickles, white vinegar, water, serrano peppers, and garlic. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes until the peppers are soft.
  2. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly. Transfer to a blender, add onion powder, mustard seeds, turmeric, black pepper, salt, and fresh dill if using. Blend until smooth.
  3. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. For a thinner sauce, add more pickle juice or water 1 tablespoon at a time.
  4. Pour the sauce into a sterilized bottle or jar and refrigerate. Let it chill for at least 24 hours before using for the best flavor.

Notes

  • For a milder sauce, use fewer serrano peppers or substitute with jalapeños.
