Description

Indulge in the whimsy of Easter with this delightful Easter Bunny Dirt Cake recipe. Layers of creamy pudding, crushed Oreos, and fluffy whipped topping come together to create a fun and festive dessert perfect for spring celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale

Oreo Cookie Layer:

  • 1 (14.3 oz) package Oreo cookies

Cream Cheese Mixture:

  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Pudding Layer:

  • 2 (3.4 oz) boxes instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 3 cups cold milk

Additional:

  • 1 (12 oz) container whipped topping (Cool Whip)
  • Pastel-colored sprinkles
  • Bunny-shaped marshmallows or candies
  • Green-tinted shredded coconut (optional)
  • Candy eggs or jelly beans

Instructions

  1. Crush the Oreos: Place the Oreo cookies in a food processor and pulse until finely crushed.
  2. Prepare Cream Cheese Mixture: In a large bowl, beat together the cream cheese, butter, and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy.
  3. Mix Pudding: In another bowl, whisk together the pudding mix and cold milk for 2 minutes until thickened.
  4. Combine Layers: Fold the pudding into the cream cheese mixture, then gently fold in the whipped topping until well combined.
  5. Assemble Cake: In a 9×13-inch dish, spread a layer of crushed Oreos on the bottom. Pour the pudding mixture over the cookie layer and spread evenly. Top with the remaining crushed Oreos to resemble dirt.
  6. Decorate: Decorate the top with bunny-shaped candies, candy eggs, green coconut ‘grass,’ and pastel sprinkles.
  7. Chill: Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

  • To make green coconut ‘grass,’ place shredded coconut in a zip-top bag with a few drops of green food coloring and shake until evenly coated.
  • You can also use chocolate pudding instead of vanilla for a darker ‘dirt’ appearance.
