Description

This delicious Easter Dirt Cake is a no-bake dessert perfect for spring celebrations. Layered with crushed Oreo cookies, creamy chocolate pudding filling, and topped with festive Easter M&M’s and PEEP marshmallows, it’s a fun and easy treat to make that requires minimal prep and no oven time.

Ingredients

Scale

Crust and Topping

  • 1 15.5 oz package Oreo cookies, crushed
  • 1 cup Easter M&M’s
  • 20 PEEP marshmallows

Filling

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 8 oz package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 cups milk
  • 2 boxes (3.4 oz each) instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 12 oz Cool Whip, thawed

Instructions

  1. Cream Butter, Cream Cheese, and Sugar: In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter, softened cream cheese, and powdered sugar until smooth and fully combined. Set aside this creamy mixture.
  2. Prepare Pudding: In a separate bowl, whisk the milk with the instant chocolate pudding mix until the mixture is smooth and slightly thickened.
  3. Combine Pudding and Cream Cheese Mixture: Pour the prepared pudding into the cream cheese mixture. Use a mixer to beat until fully incorporated, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed to ensure everything is evenly mixed.
  4. Fold in Cool Whip: Gently fold the thawed Cool Whip into the pudding and cream cheese mixture until well combined, creating a light and fluffy filling.
  5. Assemble Cake: In a 9×13 inch dish, press half of the crushed Oreo cookies evenly on the bottom to form the base layer. Spread the pudding filling over the Oreo crust. Then sprinkle the remaining crushed Oreo cookies on top as the final layer.
  6. Chill: Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours to allow it to set and the flavors to meld together.
  7. Decorate and Serve: Before serving, sprinkle Easter M&M’s over the top of the cake for a festive look. Place one PEEP marshmallow on each slice of the cake. Optionally, add edible green grass for extra decoration and presentation.

Notes

  • For best results, use full-fat cream cheese and butter for rich flavor and texture.
  • Chilling time is important to allow the pudding to set properly for slicing.
  • You can use any flavor of pudding or candy toppings to customize the cake.
  • If desired, substitute Cool Whip with homemade whipped cream for a fresher taste.
  • Keep the cake refrigerated until serving to maintain freshness.
