Description

A simple and delicious recipe for Easy Banana Bread that is moist and flavorful. This classic banana bread is made with ripe bananas and can be customized with nuts or chocolate chips.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients:

  • 3 ripe bananas (mashed)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Mix wet ingredients: In a large bowl, mix the mashed bananas and melted butter until combined. Stir in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  3. Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon (if using).
  4. Blend wet and dry: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Fold in nuts or chocolate chips if desired.
  5. Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Cool and serve: Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For extra banana flavor, use very ripe bananas with brown spots.
  • This recipe also works well with whole wheat flour or a mix of flours.
  • Store leftovers wrapped at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze slices for up to 3 months.
