- 1 pound ground beef

- 1/2 red bell pepper, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup tomato sauce
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin

- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
Other:
- 1 package refrigerated pie dough or empanada discs
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Oil for sautéing
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Sauté vegetables: In a skillet, sauté onion and red bell pepper until soft. Add garlic and cook briefly.
- Cook beef: Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned. Stir in tomato sauce, spices, and cilantro.
- Assemble empanadas: Roll out dough, place filling in the center of each circle, fold over, and seal edges.
- Bake: Brush empanadas with egg wash, bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Serve: Let cool slightly before serving.
