  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 pound ground pork or ground turkey
  • 1/2 small onion (diced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger (grated)
  • 1 bag (14 oz) coleslaw mix or shredded cabbage
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce or coconut aminos
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Garnish:

  • 2 green onions (sliced)
  • sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat sesame oil: In a large skillet, heat sesame oil over medium heat.
  2. Cook meat and onion: Add ground pork and diced onion, cook until browned and cooked through, about 6–8 minutes.
  3. Add aromatics: Stir in garlic and ginger, cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Incorporate cabbage: Add coleslaw mix, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and red pepper flakes if using. Cook for 4–5 minutes until cabbage is tender but still slightly crisp.
  5. Finish and serve: Remove from heat, top with sliced green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot as-is or over rice or cauliflower rice.
