Description

These Easy Glazed Carrots are a simple and delicious side dish that’s perfect for any meal. Tender carrots are coated in a sweet and savory glaze, making them a crowd-pleaser for both holiday dinners and quick weeknight meals.

Ingredients

Scale

Carrots:

  • 1 lb carrots, peeled and cut into ¼-inch slices

Glaze:

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar or honey
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare Carrots: In a medium saucepan, bring water to a boil and add the sliced carrots. Cook for 5–7 minutes until just tender, then drain.
  2. Make Glaze: In the same pan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in brown sugar or honey, salt, pepper, and optional cinnamon or nutmeg.
  3. Glaze Carrots: Add the drained carrots back to the pan and toss to coat. Cook for another 3–5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the glaze thickens and coats the carrots.
  4. Finish: Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

  • You can use baby carrots instead of sliced carrots—just adjust cooking time slightly.
  • For a citrus twist, add a splash of orange juice to the glaze.
  • These carrots reheat well and are perfect for holiday meals or quick weeknight dinners.
