Description

This Easy Instant Pot Applesauce recipe is a quick and flavorful way to make homemade applesauce. With just a few simple ingredients and the magic of the Instant Pot, you’ll have delicious, naturally sweetened applesauce in no time.

Ingredients

Scale

Applesauce:

  • 3 pounds apples (such as Fuji, Honeycrisp, or Gala) peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 12 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Add Ingredients: Add the chopped apples, water, lemon juice, honey or maple syrup if using, cinnamon if desired, and a pinch of salt to the Instant Pot. Stir to combine.
  2. Cook: Close the lid and set the valve to sealing. Cook on high pressure for 5 minutes.
  3. Natural Release: Allow a natural release for 5 minutes, then carefully do a quick release for any remaining pressure.
  4. Puree: Open the lid and use an immersion blender to puree the applesauce to your desired consistency, or mash with a potato masher for a chunkier texture.
  5. Adjust: Taste and adjust sweetness if needed. Let cool and store in airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 7 days or freeze for longer storage.
