Ingredients

Scale

Vegetable Oil:

  • 1/4 cup

Popcorn Kernels:

  • 1/2 cup

Granulated Sugar:

  • 1/4 cup

Salt:

  • 1 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Heat the Vegetable Oil: Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add three popcorn kernels and cover with a lid. When the kernels pop, add the rest of the popcorn kernels and sprinkle the sugar evenly over them.

  3. Cook the Popcorn: Quickly cover with the lid and shake the pot to coat the kernels in sugar. Continue to cook, shaking the pot occasionally to prevent burning, until popping slows to about 2 seconds between pops.
  4. Finish and Serve: Immediately remove from heat and pour the popcorn into a large bowl. Sprinkle with salt and toss to coat. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Be careful not to let the sugar burn.
  • You can adjust the sweetness or saltiness to taste.
