Sweet Potatoes:
- 2 1/2 pounds sweet potatoes (peeled and cubed)
Additional Ingredients:
- 1/3 cup milk (or more as needed)
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup or brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Optional: 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon or nutmeg for added warmth
Instructions
- Boil Sweet Potatoes: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add cubed sweet potatoes and cook for 15–20 minutes, or until fork-tender.
- Drain and Mash: Drain well and return to the pot. Add butter, milk, maple syrup or brown sugar, salt, pepper, and cinnamon or nutmeg if using. Mash until smooth using a potato masher or hand mixer, adjusting the milk as needed for desired creaminess.
- Season and Serve: Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve warm.

- For dairy-free, use almond milk and vegan butter.
