  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1 large egg

  • 2 tablespoons milk

For the Sauce:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For Serving:

  • 12 oz spaghetti

Instructions

  1. Cook the spaghetti: In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook spaghetti until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Make the Sauce: Heat olive oil in a skillet, sauté onion and garlic. Add crushed tomatoes, basil, oregano, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Simmer.
  3. Prepare the Meatballs: Mix beef, Parmesan, breadcrumbs, egg, parsley, milk, salt, and pepper. Form into meatballs.
  4. Cook the Meatballs: Place meatballs in the sauce, cover, and cook for 20–25 minutes, turning occasionally.
  5. Serve: Serve meatballs and sauce over cooked spaghetti, garnish with Parmesan and parsley.
