Description

Fireball Cherry Bombs are a fun and festive treat featuring maraschino cherries soaked in Fireball cinnamon whiskey, then dipped in creamy white chocolate and coated with colorful sanding sugar. These bite-sized delights offer a perfect balance of sweet, spicy, and crunchy textures, making them an excellent party appetizer or a unique dessert.

Ingredients

Scale

Cherries and Soaking

  • 10 ounce jar maraschino cherries with stems
  • ¼ cup Fireball cinnamon whiskey

Coating

  • 5 ounces white chocolate melting wafers (from a 10-ounce Ghirardelli package)
  • ¼ cup colored sanding sugar sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Prepare and Soak the Cherries: Drain ¼ cup of juice from the jar of maraschino cherries and set aside the lid. Replace the drained juice with ¼ cup of Fireball cinnamon whiskey, close the jar tightly, and gently shake to evenly distribute the whiskey. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour or up to overnight for maximum flavor infusion.
  2. Drain and Dry the Cherries: Line a large plate with a paper towel. Drain the cherries from the liquor, placing them stem-side up on the towel-lined plate. Pat the cherries dry to remove any excess liquid for better chocolate adhesion.
  3. Melt the White Chocolate: Place the white chocolate melting wafers in a small microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until fully melted and smooth. Follow the package instructions closely for best results.
  4. Dip the Cherries: Holding each cherry by its stem, dip them almost fully into the melted white chocolate. Gently shake off excess chocolate to prevent clumps.
  5. Coat with Sprinkles: Immediately dip the white chocolate-covered cherries into the colored sanding sugar and roll gently to coat evenly. Place the coated cherries on a parchment-lined plate to set.
  6. Chill to Set: Transfer the plate of coated cherries to the refrigerator for 30 minutes to allow the white chocolate to harden before serving.

Notes

  • Ensure cherries are thoroughly dry before dipping to help chocolate adhere better.
  • Adjust soaking time in Fireball whiskey to control the intensity of cinnamon flavor.
  • Use good quality white chocolate melting wafers for smooth coating and easy melting.
  • Colored sanding sugar adds a festive look but can be substituted with crushed nuts or coconut flakes for variety.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator in an airtight container to keep fresh.
