Description

Fireball Chicken features tender bite-sized pieces of chicken glazed in a sticky, spicy-sweet sauce made with Fireball cinnamon whiskey, honey, and brown sugar. This quick stovetop recipe delivers a flavorful punch that’s perfect served over rice, noodles, or roasted vegetables for a satisfying American main course.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken

  • 1 ½ pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

Fireball Sauce

  • ½ cup Fireball cinnamon whiskey
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water (slurry)

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken: In a bowl, evenly season the bite-sized chicken pieces with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder to enhance the flavor before cooking.
  2. Cook the chicken: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned chicken pieces and cook for 6 to 8 minutes, turning occasionally until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through.
  3. Prepare the Fireball sauce: While the chicken cooks, combine Fireball cinnamon whiskey, honey, brown sugar, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar in a small saucepan. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat.
  4. Thicken the sauce: Stir in the cornstarch slurry into the simmering sauce and continue to cook for 2 to 3 minutes until the sauce thickens to a glossy glaze consistency.
  5. Glaze the chicken: Once the chicken is cooked, pour the thickened Fireball sauce over the chicken in the skillet. Stir well to coat the chicken evenly and cook for an additional 1 to 2 minutes so the sauce becomes sticky and clings to each piece.
  6. Serve: Serve the Fireball Chicken hot over steamed rice, noodles, or your choice of roasted vegetables for a balanced, flavorful meal.

Notes

  • Adjust the sweetness and heat to your liking by adding chili flakes to the sauce for an extra kick.
  • This recipe also works well on the grill; simply brush the prepared Fireball sauce onto the chicken during the last few minutes of grilling.
