Description

Four Thieves Vinegar is a traditional herbal infusion known for its medicinal and household cleansing properties. This recipe combines a blend of fresh herbs, garlic, and vinegar to create a fragrant and versatile concoction.

Fresh Herb Blend:

  • 2 cups raw apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary leaves, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh sage leaves, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lavender flowers or leaves, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh thyme leaves, chopped

Additional Ingredients:

  • 4 garlic cloves, smashed
  • 1 tablespoon whole black peppercorns
  • 1 tablespoon cloves (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Herb Infusion: Lightly bruise or chop the fresh herbs. Place rosemary, sage, lavender, thyme, garlic, peppercorns, and cloves (if using) in a quart-sized glass jar.
  2. Add Vinegar: Pour raw apple cider vinegar over the herbs until fully submerged.
  3. Infuse: Seal the jar with a non-metallic lid and store in a cool, dark place for 2 to 4 weeks, shaking gently every few days.
  4. Strain and Store: After steeping, strain the vinegar through cheesecloth into a clean bottle. Store in a cool, dark place for up to 6 months.
