- 1 1/2 cups fresh strawberries (hulled and frozen)
Liquid and Sweetener
- 1/2 cup pineapple juice
- 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (optional)
- 1/2 cup cold water (as needed)
Additional Flavorings
- Juice of 1 lime
- Ice cubes (optional, for thicker texture)
Instructions
- Prepare Pineapple Blend: In a blender, combine the frozen pineapple chunks, 1/4 cup pineapple juice, 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup if using, and half of the lime juice. Blend until smooth and slushy, adding cold water as needed to reach the desired consistency.
- Set Aside Pineapple Mixture: Pour the blended pineapple mixture into a bowl or jug and set aside to keep ready for layering.
- Clean Blender: Rinse the blender to prepare for the strawberry mixture, ensuring fresh flavors and texture.
- Prepare Strawberry Blend: Add the frozen strawberries to the blender along with the remaining 1/4 cup pineapple juice, 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup, and the rest of the lime juice. Blend until smooth and slushy.
- Layer Mixtures: Alternately spoon the pineapple and strawberry mixtures into serving glasses. Use a straw or spoon to gently swirl the layers, creating a beautiful marbled effect.
- Serve Immediately: Enjoy right away for the best slushie texture. Optionally, add ice cubes during blending or a splash of rum or vodka for an adult version.
Notes
- For an adult cocktail variation, add a splash of rum or vodka to the blended mixtures before serving.
- You can substitute agave syrup or omit sweetener entirely if using very ripe fruit.
- To achieve a colder and thicker slushie, add a handful of ice cubes to each blend before processing.
