Description

These Fried Sliced Mushrooms with Ranch are a crispy and flavorful appetizer or snack that’s perfect for any gathering. The mushrooms are coated in a crunchy breadcrumb mixture and fried until golden brown, then served with a side of creamy ranch dressing.

Ingredients

Scale

Fried Sliced Mushrooms:

  • 8 oz fresh mushrooms (button or cremini, sliced ¼ inch thick)
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Ranch Dressing:

  • ½ cup ranch dressing (for dipping)

Instructions

  1. Clean and slice mushrooms: Slice mushrooms into even pieces.
  2. Set up dredging station: Prepare three bowls with flour, beaten eggs, and a mix of panko breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Dredge mushrooms: Dip each mushroom slice in flour, then egg, then coat in breadcrumb mixture.
  4. Fry mushrooms: Heat oil to 350°F, fry mushrooms in batches for 2–3 minutes per side until golden and crispy.
  5. Drain and serve: Transfer fried mushrooms to a paper towel–lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve hot with ranch dressing.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, double-dip the mushrooms in egg and breadcrumbs.
  • You can air fry them at 400°F for 10–12 minutes for a lighter option.
  • Try adding grated Parmesan to the breadcrumbs for added flavor.
