- 1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (divided)
For the Frosting:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream or milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Make the Bars: Cream butter and sugars, add eggs and vanilla, mix in dry ingredients, spread in baking dish, sprinkle with cinnamon, and bake for 22-25 minutes.
- Prepare the Frosting: Beat butter, add powdered sugar, cream, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt, then spread over cooled bars.
- Serve: Slice into squares and enjoy!
