  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (divided)

For the Frosting:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream or milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Make the Bars: Cream butter and sugars, add eggs and vanilla, mix in dry ingredients, spread in baking dish, sprinkle with cinnamon, and bake for 22-25 minutes.
  3. Prepare the Frosting: Beat butter, add powdered sugar, cream, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt, then spread over cooled bars.
