This Garlic Bread Cheesy Sloppy Joe Bake combines the flavors of a classic sloppy joe with the cheesy goodness of garlic bread for a mouthwatering meal that the whole family will love.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Sloppy Joe Filling:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 small yellow onion (diced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

For the Garlic Bread:

  • 1 loaf French bread (cut in half lengthwise)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. Cook the beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef in olive oil until browned. Add onion and cook until softened. Stir in garlic.
  3. Make the filling: Mix in ketchup, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer until thickened. Stir in half of the cheeses.
  4. Prepare the bread: Place French bread halves on a baking sheet. Mix melted butter with garlic powder and brush over the bread.
  5. Assemble: Spoon the sloppy joe mixture onto bread halves. Top with remaining cheeses.
  6. Bake: Bake for 10–12 minutes until cheese is melted. Broil for a golden top if desired. Garnish with parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a dash of hot sauce to the meat mixture.
