For the noodles:

  • 8 oz spaghetti or lo mein noodles
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 6 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

For the teriyaki chicken:

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon ginger (grated)
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water

Instructions

  1. Prepare the teriyaki sauce: Combine soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, honey, garlic, and ginger in a saucepan. Simmer over medium heat, add cornstarch slurry, and thicken for 1–2 minutes. Set aside.
  2. Cook the noodles: Follow package instructions, drain, and set aside.
  3. Cook the chicken: Season, cook in a skillet until golden brown. Slice, and toss with teriyaki sauce.
  4. Prepare the garlic noodles: Melt butter, sauté garlic, add soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and black pepper. Toss in cooked noodles.
  5. Serve: Top garlic noodles with teriyaki chicken. Garnish with green onions or sesame seeds.
